Major Filipino festivals comes once a year here in Sydney. As always, it’s ear marked usually the first weekend of Australian Labour day in NSW and ACT.
This year, Labour day and the Filipino festival is held on Monday, October 6 2014. It is as usual held at Fairfield Showground. I am only assuming this is during the Filipino festival as well. But again, I could be wrong!
How I knew this is only because of a pageant candidate. Christine Ferrer. Normally, I forget about the Filipino festivals, because it can be taxing. High priced and not much to offer.
Christine Ferrer is a candidate for this years pageant at Fairfield showground. Please support our Filipino-Australian Candidate Christine Ferrer for this year’s Miss Philippines-Australia 2014.
Here’s a little bit about her.
She lived in Brisbane and now currently lives in Melbourne Australia
She is competing this year’s pageant because she wants to be an inspiration for others. Little that we know that Christine lived in the Philippines in her teen years and came back to Australia to do her University Degree which she then became one of the top 5% student tier of an Australian University for Business. She has also won a scholarship talent-based award in Interior Design studies which shows how talented she truly is.
Her advocacy is to share inspiration to others, especially Filipinos, that they can make it here in Australia or in anywhere in the world. That they just need to believe in the power of their dreams.
On the side, she does modelling, singing and is also an Interior Design student. We will also be seeing her in the next upcoming season Reality TV show here in Australia called FASX2 (which will be on Channel 44 (C31 Melbourne and Geelong).
